Launch the PSIsafe Desktop client
The connection configuration process will change depending on whether your installation is on-premises or cloud-hosted.
The Connection Configuration window appears when you first launch the PSIsafe Desktop client. If the Connection Configuration window does not appear, click the gear icon in the bottom-right of the window and select Connection Configuration.
On-Premise Installations
The Connection Configuration window will appear when you first open the client. Select On-Premise and fill out the IPv4 address of your local server or IPv6 PC name. The Customer Code will remain “Default”. Then hit “Save”.
- Select On-premise.
- Type the IPv4 address of your local server or IPv6 computer name.
- The Customer code remains "Default."
- Click Save to apply the changes.
Cloud Installations
The Connection Configuration window will appear when you open the client for the first time. The Server Address will not be entered. The Customer Code will be set up at the end of the purchase process. Enter it here and “Save”.
- Select Cloud.
- The PSIsafe Desktop server IP address should not be entered.
- Enter the Customer code after the purchase process is finished.
- Click Save to apply the changes.
Advanced Settings
IMPORTANT NOTE: As of October 31st 2023, all PSIsafe Cloud connections have been affected to connect to the newest datacenter. See Transitioning from PSIGEN PSIsafe to Kofax PSIsafe in Azure for more information.
Click the Show Advanced Settings checkbox at the bottom of the connection configuration window to display the advanced settings configuration options.
NOTE: Adjusting these settings and the Client Path/URL without assistance from PSIGEN Support can lead to undesirable outcomes and non-functional installations. The following warning will appear when attempting to edit these critical system settings.
Connection Configuration with Advanced Settings
Protocols and Ports:
Do not adjust the default protocols or ports unless directed by Kofax Support. For more information on adding port exceptions to antivirus and firewall settings, see:

Client Path
The Client Path button displays the current path to the client executable, and is the root directory out of which the excutable is run:
Set URL
By default, the URL field is disabled:
Modify the Cloud URL by checking the Use Kofax PSIsafe URL button:
