This article is intended for general use. Individuals receiving content from a PSIsafe User via Share should reference this guide.

Overview

To get started with PSIsafe Share, and to open, download, or upload content as needed, users must first familiarize themselves with the PSIsafe Share Portal. The PSIsafe Share Portal is a web-based service that allows you to receive and share documents with specific users set in your Share Address Book, and, as a receiver of Shared content, to then access this content as needed. This guide is mostly intended for users receiving PSIsafe Share content, and explains how to activate your account and start using PSIsafe Share outside of PSIsafe.

Accessing the Share Portal

PSIsafe Share Users can access the PSIsafe Share portal by using a standard browser (recommended browsers are listed in the requirements above). When a document(s) is first shared, an email is sent to the end user. This email will contain the username and password with a link to the portal, as shown below:

Clicking the link will redirect the Share User to the Share Portal login page. Once on the login page, enter the username and temporary password that was given in the email and click "Login". The user will then be prompted to enter in a new password, as shown below:

Afterwards, the new user will be required to sign in with this updated password. The following is a screenshot of what a user would see when first logging into the PSIsafe Share portal:

Once logged in, the user will see the standard Share Portal interface. Explore the sections below to learn more about this interface and how best to utilize it for your needs.

Understanding the Share Portal Interface

The PSIsafe Share Portal interface is straightforward and simple to use. As seen in the screenshot below, the sections are broken down by their function and list:

Explore the sections below to understand how to use Folders, Documents, and Notes within the PSIsafe Share Portal. Further explanations of each button and its corresponding function/action are listed in the final section.

Share Portal Folders

The Share portal allows users to create and delete folders as necessary. Note that creation of new folders is not necessary, but may be helpful for some users to group content more easily as both PSIsafe User and Share Receiver transmit content to one another. To create a new folder, simply click the "Folders" button and select "New Folder" to create a new folder:

The Create New Folder interface is then displayed:

Then, the new folder appears in the Folder List:

Folders can also be deleted from this same menu by selecting the folder from the list, then selecting "Folders" > "Delete Folder". A deletion confirmation will appear:

Once folders are sorted, users can move on to Documents & Content.

Accessing Documents & Content

Shared documents are sent to the “SHARES” folder and listed for easy access. To view a document, the user can double click the document or select document and click download.

Depending on how their browser is configured, the document will be opened in a browser or saved to the PC/device and opened with the default program for that document file type.

Download Shared Content

In most cases, users accessing the Share portal will want to download shared content for their unique business needs. Downloading content is as simple as selecting an item from the list and selecting the "Download" button, as seen here:

Upload Content to Share

To upload content to PSIsafe Share, and allow the original PSIsafe User who Shared content to see access your Uploads, simply select the "Upload" button, as seen below:

ul1.png

The PSIsafe Share Upload dialog box will then appear:

Browse to the content you wish to upload, select a Folder Name if applicable, and then choose the user you wish to Share your content with. In most cases, a single user will appear in the "Share With" dropdown menu. Finally, add any notes applicable to your upload and select the "Upload" button. Once these fields are filled out, your upload may look similar to the screenshot below:

Finally, once your upload is complete, you'll see your content appear in the Share Folder you specified. An example is shown below:

Adding Notes

Notes can be a helpful way for the PSIsafe Share Sender and the Share Portal User (Receiver) to communicated quickly and easily about specific content hosted on Share. You'll see the notes section below the Content List, as seen below:

To add a note, simply select the content to which you'd like to add a note via the checkbox on the same line within the document list, then type in a note, and select the "Add Note" button, as seen below:

Once you select the "Add Note" button, the note will then appear in the "Notes" list section below:
