What does the queue.state file accomplish within the queue folder in a monitored Auto Import location.

Answer:

The Queue.state file is stored in the queue directory by the PSIcapture server prior to assigning a queue to a local or remote auto-import processor.  It communicates all of the information required by the auto-import processor to create a batch for the queued document set, such as the document type name, the location of the monitored directory, and metadata for each document to be imported.  For added security, the file’s contents are encrypted.”
