PSIcapture Error: "Failed to recompress image" error when migrating Image Only PDFs

Problem

A PDF Image Only migration fails on grayscale documents. The Migration log reports:

Error: Failed to recompress image.
BitMiracle.Docotic.Pdf.UnsupportedImageException: Failed to recompress image. --- BitMiracle.Docotic.Pdf.UnsupportedImageException: Failed to decompress JPEG image data.

Solution

1. Edit the capture profile.
2. Under Image File Options, change the Grayscale Format option to any other than the default "TIFF-JPEG Compression".
3. Save the capture profile and re-import the documents.
