PSIcapture Scanning Hardware: Scanner slowdown with Data Matrix barcodes

Problem:

After 6-12 pages, the scanner images come into PSIcapture at a reduced rate.

This setup has a Separate action on any bar code and and recognition is set to Most Accurate.

This Applies to 2d Data Matrix Bar codes (Scan Interval does not affect 2d bar codes only 1d like 3 of 9).

Multiple Index fields are also being input based on data within Data Matrix Barcode.

Solution:

1. Go to Configuration > Capture Profile > Recognition > Barcodes:
1. Since you are selecting fastest be sure to be more specific with your separation.
2. Choose Separate on specific Bar code values and patterns.
3. Add a regular expression for a peace of data you know will be contained within the Bar Code. an example would be:
   \d{1,10} = #,##,###,####,#####,######,#######,########,########,##########
   if a number between 1 and 10 characters is recognized, within a bar code, it will separate.
2. Go to Step 4 of 9 in Document Type Configuration
1. Create a Zone in Zones to Recognize (click Define Zone to enter zone setup) and name it Area of Search.
2. Select the Area of Search in the Zones to Recognize area.
3. Select the Fastest option from the Reading Quality.
3. Run a test to ensure the scanner is matching the pages being displayed on screen.
