PSIcapture Barcode Recognition Error: Unable to load DLL 'Accusoft.BarcodeXpress9.Common.9.0.2.14.ssm':

Problem:

User is running Barcode Recognition and this error occurs.

Unable to load DLL 'Accusoft.BarcodeXpress9.Common.9.0.2.14.ssm': The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E)
at Accusoft.BarcodeXpressSdk.WorkerImports.WorkerInitialize(IntPtr& workspaceID, String componentName, Int32 controlType, DesignRunProc pfnDR, IntPtr pUser)
at Accusoft.BarcodeXpressSdk.BarcodeXpress..ctor()

Solution 1:

Try the following below;

1. Run the application as Administrator
2. EMC Captiva requires the following Visual C++ Runtime
1. Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) ensure this is installed
1. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5582
3. Also you will need to copy out the entire EMC Captiva library and replace with the same library of same version that is working properly.
4. This can be done by going to C:\Program Files (x86)\PSIGEN\Capture\Libraries\EMC Captiva and copying this from a machine that is currently working without this issue.

Solution 2:

1.  Navigate to C:\Windows\Temp\Accusoft and see if there is a GUID subfolder ({D5CE9ED4-28C2-461a-8EC5-2F81C1DF22B5}) containing the Accusoft.BarcodeXpress9.Common.9.0.2.14.ssm

2.  If this folder exists, remove the GUID folder and re-test

3.  Additionally, the system may place this GUID folder under the Users AppData directory; C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Temp\Accusoft
