PSIcapture Troubleshooting: Capture Services will not start during installation

Problem:

While installing PSIcapture, an error is displayed:

Error:

Capture Services failed to start, please verify that you have sufficient privileges

When trying to install version 6.0.1.4 (and later in some instances), the service will not start. In the event logs, an error points to .NET not matching the assembly of 4.6.1 (or later, check the technical specifications of the version in question). This issue looks to pertain to a faulty installation of .NET framework.

Solution:

Uninstall Microsoft SQL Server Express LocalDB and try to reinstall the application. When the prerequisites screen prompts you to reinstall LocalDB have the user select all the prerequisites including .NET.

You can also remove one of the following prerequisites located below besides the .NET to prompt the prerequisite window to pop up during installation.
