PSIcapture's network traffic can sometimes be flagged by Antivirus and be blocked by Firewalls. This includes Windows Firewall, as well as third-party Antivirus, Firewall, Intrusion Prevention, and other filtering methods. To prevent service failures and to ensure your network stations can communicate with the Capture Server as well as the License Server, you will need to add exclusions in the following areas:
Network Traffic (Firewall)
PSIcapture service ports (default): TCP 47232-47233
NOTE: Service ports can be adjusted in via the Configuration Manager.
Example of adding a Windows Firewall Exception:
On-Access or Realtime Scanning Directories:
C:\Program Files (x86)\PSIGEN
C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL Server Local DB\
Any Batch Storage Locations
Any Migration Storage Locations
Any Fusion Deployment Locations (optional)
Auto-Import Monitored Directories
All directories being monitored by the Auto Import Service as a part of your Capture Profile configuration need to be added as directories excluded from realtime scanning on on-access scanning, as this can cause significant delays in Auto Import processing times.
Auto Import Monitored Directories Location in Configuration (or via Automation Monitor):
C:\Program Files (x86)\PSIGEN\Capture.AutoImportProcessor.EXE
C:\Program Files (x86)\PSIGEN\Capture.Services.EXE
C:\Program Files (x86)\PSIGEN\Capture.EXE
C:\Program Files (x86)\PSIGEN\Utilities\AutomationMonitor.EXE
C:\Program Files (x86)\PSIGEN\Utilities\BarcodeGenerator.EXE
C:\Program Files (x86)\PSIGEN\Utilities\LicenseServer.EXE
C:\Program Files (x86)\PSIGEN\Utilities\ServiceManager.EXE
Fusion Services (optional)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\PSIGEN Software, Inc.
