PSIsafe: Antivirus & Firewall Port, Directory, and Registry Exclusions

Overview

PSIsafe's network traffic can sometimes be flagged by Antivirus and be blocked by Firewalls. This includes Windows Firewall, as well as third-party Antivirus, Firewall, Intrusion Prevention, and other filtering methods. To prevent service failures and to ensure your network stations can communicate with the PSIsafe Server, Client, and all sub-modules involved, please add the following exclusions:

External Firewall access

PSIsafe communicates using specific ports which must be allowed access to properly function. Add the following port exceptions for TCP and UDP connections as applicable.

PSIsafe Desktop Firewall access on a Local Network:

Network Traffic (Firewall)

PSIsafe ports (default)

TCP:  8993-8994 (Service Ports)
         11000 (.NET Remoting)
         1433 (SQL Service)
UDP: 1434 (SQL Browser Service)

NOTE: Service ports can be adjusted in via Connection Configuration window on the client and via Management for the server.

Example of adding a Windows Firewall Exception:

On-Access or Realtime Scanning Directories:
