Problem: The Fusion Services, or Mailroom Services (3.3+) continually crash and/or won't stay running when the Administrator attempts to run them from the Services console.
Solution: In PSIcapture Fusion 2.0 - 3.2, a Windows user is automatically created during the installation process called "Fusion", and the corresponding permissions are added to this user account, from the Application Pool Identity, to the application pass through permissions of the website, to the Fusion / Mailroom Services "Log On As" credentials. If the PSIcapture Fusion / Mailroom installation was deployed in an environment that restricts user creation, or the "Fusion" user was edited, removed or the account's permissions were changed post-installation, this could cause a variety of problems. For information regarding the Website File and Application Pool via IIS, see:
PSIcapture Mailroom 3.3+ (PSIfusion 3.0+) HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable.
To fix the service credentials, open Services.MSC and locate the Fusion or Mailroom Services, right-click, and select "Properties", as seen below:
Select the "Log On" Tab as seen below:
Verify that the account associated with the service has the following permissions:
Read/Write/Modify Access to the following Directories:
C:\ProgramData\PSIGEN\Fusion
C:\ProgramData\PSIGEN\Fusion Service
C:\Program Files (x86)\PSIGEN\Fusion
C:\Program Files (x86)\PSIGEN\Fusion Service
And the following Registry Key root:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\PSIGEN Software, Inc.\PSIFusion
For Mailroom 3.3+, the Registry key location will be:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Kofax, Inc.
