Overview
This feature allows PSIcapture Users to easily import and export device profiles across different capture profiles and PCs within or outside of the network.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This option is only available from the File Menu of the Capture/Import and QA Workflow Steps, as seen in the screenshot below:
Profile Import / Export Settings
This is the root window that appears when selecting "Import/Export Device Profiles..." from the file menu in both the Capture/Import Workflow step as well as the QA Workflow step.
Operation:
Import Device Profiles
This option allows import of device profiles from other capture profiles. The "Shared" option must be enabled to allow import of device profiles from the "Integrated Capture Server storage" option below. Otherwise, the profiles can be imported from a set location, as described below.
Export Device Profiles
Much like the import option, this option allows for export of device profiles to other capture profiles. The "Shared" option must be enabled to allow import of device profiles from the "Integrated Capture Server storage" option below. Otherwise, the profiles can be imported from a set location, as described below.
Which device contains the profiles you would like to import?
PSIcapture supports two major device driver groups: ISIS / TWAIN Scanning and Adrenaline / VRS drivers. The third option is Import, which sets a directory from which to source content. Select the type of device that conforms to the profile you'd like to import or export. For example, if you'd like to export TWAIN scanner drivers, select ISIS / TWAIN. Once selected, hit the "Next" button, and you'll see a selection window similar to the above screenshot.
Where are the profiles to import stored?
There are two options to source imported device profiles:
Integrated Capture Server Storage - This option sources from the device profiles previous configured in a Capture/Import workflow step. For more information, see: Capture/Import: Configure Device Profiles. Users who wish to share their Device Profiles across this internal network simply check the box "Shared" next to a device profile configuration window.
A Custom Storage Location - Browse to an accessible path to find Device Profile files that have been saved locally. By default, PSIcapture stores Device Profiles in the following path:
C:\ProgramData\PSIGEN\Capture\Devices
From this location, find the subfolder appropriate to your type of device, often "Import" or "ISIS", depending on the driver type.
Complete the process by selecting "Export" or "Import" depending on your initial selection.
